Behind the Scenes: In December we worked with Kirkwood High School staff and students to record the Oral Histories of three “elders” of the community.
Visit Mudd’s Grove, 302 W. Argonne Drive, on Saturday, Feb. 28, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., to explore new oral history videos featuring local figures Lloyd Jones, Loretta Stevenson and Art Manse. There will also be a children’s activity.
Each year, this event honors a Kirkwood Black family that has contributed to the culture and success of Kirkwood. This year’s honorees are members of the Hill family, who will meet and greet visitors and welcome their own family members with photo boards and family trees in a reunion-style event.
