Notorious Missouri: 200 Years of Historic Crimes

Event Details

  • Date: October 4, 2021 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm

The Kirkwood Historical Society Friends Speaker Series Presents:

Notorious Missouri: 200 Years of Historic Crimes

Speakers: Vickie and Jim Erwin

Jim and Vicki Erwin, co-authors of “Notorious Missouri: 200 Years of Historic Crimes,” cover crimes committed across our state as well as others that hit close to home for local residents. Those include the murder that inspired the song “Frankie and Johnnie,” duals on “Bloody Island” and the Bobby Greenlease abduction and murder. Their book also includes the kidnapping and captivity of Sean Hornbeck and Ben Ownby, and the fatal shooting spree at Kirkwood City Hall.

For more background on their book, see the feature story that appeared in the WKT back in May: https://rb.gy/rc1fkc.

Join us via Zoom as Jim and Vickie regale us with the details of these fascinating stories and more!
